Ahhhh my son! He is a brilliant little dude that if one day he could use his wonderful acting skills for good rather then evil he should be a big star one day.
As most people I am sure we have missed afew days of school due to illness. Fever and etc..... So Liam had 5 day off of school including the weekend. Monday was report card writing day so no school. Yesterday was Mike's day off so he took him to school and there was no problem.
I take him today we get out of the car he starts crying and clutching his belly saying how sick he is and may throw up. Of course other parents give me the hairy eye ball and back away from us. I am standing there looking stunned. I was caught off guard as there was no indication of any of this prior to going to the school. So I took him home and we had a serious chat about school, illness, and crying wolf.......
Needless to say we came home,he went straight to bed and hopefully tomorrow will be much better!
I don't want to send him if he is ill, but I do have a feeling that perhaps it is just nerves, making his belly feel yucky. And I don't know why his nerves would be bugging him as he has lots of friends and a wonderful teacher.
Maybe he just misses is WONDERFUL Mother! (HA HA )
Hope all is well out there.

If your sick STAY HOME!!
Okay so we all know what N1H1 is but seriously do we get it?
I was shopping today feeling lovely when others around me are looking very ill. And if they felt half as bad as they looked then seriously STAY HOME! I don't want anything else this season and as I don't yet qualify for the vaccine STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!!
Especially shopping where in order to get the goods into my cart I have to touch them after your slimmed it with your germs.
Any way enough about that I just felt that I needed to rant and rave alittle bit. And I certainly was not referring to any of my readers just the general public that never ceases to amaze and shock me.
So when knitter are sick we are always relieved when we are just to sick to go to work and spread our germ around but not to sick to knit. So due to a few kids fevers and very swollen tonsils on my self I managed to find a few moments to work on my Cindy Socks.
A lady at work had seen my entry in the local fair and asked if I could make her a pair for her brother for Christmas. I said sure and "yes" she is paying. Only $25.00 But after I spent money on the yarn I still made money which is the point of charging ( I think) It is not a whole lot but when it is just going back into the yarn fund, whatever.
My favorite Briggs and Little pattern Knits up quickly and always fits.

This is cheeky monkey number 2 and doesn't he look please with his new Rylan Dough (play doh) made but him.
Such an easy recipe and always turns out so well. Plus a huge bonus it doesn't chimble and fall all over the floor. It usually stays together well and smells so good.
Recipe for Cheeky dough
3- cups flour
1/2 cup salt
2 packages of kool aid mix (the kind that you add sugar too)
and 2 cups of boiling water.
You mix up all the dry ingredients and then add your 2 cups of water.Stir and then add flour as needed to make it not so sticky. I usually just have to knead in 1 heaping table spoon and then we are good to go

Fall fun
Well the garden has been ripped out I had such great intentions of taking all kinds of pictures to share with you all but that just did not happen.
Here the boys are on their way to school I thought that I needed one last picture that held alittle on to summer.
I love having 4 definite seasons, we really notice it up here. Fall is my favorite season. I love the fact that I can pull out the cozy cloths and not have to feel so hot all of time. Don't get me wrong summer is wonderful but Fall is the best! Everyone can sleep at night and I always knit up a storm this time of year.
I hope that this post finds you all well and happy knitting.

Kool to dye
The boys were excited I finished knitting the skating socks following my fave pattern Briggs and Little fine socks. So once they were off my needles they were no longer mine.So off to the Groc store for kool aid colors as the only lone package I own was orange.
Rylan had picked red and green. For his socks I let them spoon the dye on them. They turned out okay although alittle muddy in some spots.
Liam's I mixed up the blue and we shook the socks in an old giant pickle jar.We had to do it twice to get and even coverage. I mixed the green up 1 pkg to 1/4 of warm water and they drizzled the green on with an eye dropper and syringe.
1- soak skein or knitted item in a sink of warm water with a glug of vinegar. While item is soaking prepare dye.
1- pkg of kool aid to 1/4 cup of water( the less water the more vibrant color-More water gives you a lighter color)
2- Remove the yarn or item form water and remove excess water and place in a microwavable dish .
3- Apply dye, you can paint it on, dip item or skein, syringe or drop it on,mix it in a jar and twist the skein or item and shake in the dye. (you could do this method with several colors to create a Tye dye look)
4- Cook in microwave for 2 minutes.
Let sit (rest ) for 2 minutes
Then cook again for 2 minutes.
5- Let cool. Until you can safely handle
Then run under water the same temp as socks until water runs clear.
Let dry.
Lots of fun and the kids are so pleased with their creations, So really we all got enjoyment out of this yarn, I love projects that take my hobby and allow my kids to have so fun with the finished product.
I think that Santa may need to make some more socks or perhaps some mittens, maybe even a face cloth that they could dye. HUMMMMMM the possibilities are endless and fun for mum and boys.

Bad,bad blogger
You know when I started to do this it was because I really wanted to keep a journal and the paper copy just was not working so well. But as it turns out now neither is this. I just seem to loose track of days, weeks and then before you know it months.
I have picked up more work at the hospital then I thought that I would over the summer. Although we did enjoy going to Kamloops for a week, Barkerville for the day and alot of day trips out to the lake. I have done lots of knitting but of course no pictures yet due to computer issues. I hope to have my lap top back later this week and then I can put everything together.
My veggie garden is a growing concern. I think in about a week I will have so many tomatoes that I won't know what to do. I need to can but unless ever thing can wait till the first week of school when I have some time of it must rot on the vine(Sorry) I hope that this does not happen as I may have to cry. Mum always said "You' either have time or money but you'll never have both at once". So true that wise mum ma.
Any way I will be back with pictures and some exciting canning stories I am sure. Never a dull moment round these parts.

The Great flood
I know that it has been so long since I posted. I did try and the computer crashed a couple of times and then with life who remembers to write all about it. Any way all is fine here. I did finish another pair of socks and am thinking of entering them in our local fair, just for fun. I used to enter more then the competition dwindled and it was really just me and my mum and on little old lady that entered. Not that I care about the judging or anything or think that my knitting is somehow better then any ones,I just really like going the next day and seeing what other people made and drooling over their creations. I hope that some more people will enter this year for the fun of it.
Last night was a night that I hope to never have to relive ever again, Any one with busy boys will really like this one!
I was curled up relaxing with a cup of tea before I needed to go to work at 6:00pm. I could hear the boys as usual. They were using the two hoses in the back to have a water fight. I had gotten up to check on them and of course all was well, they we having a great time. When the fight was over I saw Rylans wet pants at the bottom of the stairs thinking great I have a load ready for the washer. Well when I went downstairs there was a huge flood. Leaking out the fan tubing that runs in Mike's fish tank room to keep the temp down. There was tons of water.
I had to call in to work as this was considered a domestic emergency. I had to dry the Christmas tree and all the tax information.
OHHHHHHHHH I hope I survive boys.

3 whole nights
I have been training a new lady in our department and had to work a week of 7:00 am shifts in order to do so. SO my wonderful mother in law came and looked after my little guys and even took them back to her house and had 2 nights of sleep overs. Then last night we lad a BBQ for a grad and when I saw the boys they would not let me go for a few hours and then.................. We want to go back to Grandma's and have a sleep" Come on Grandma let's go home" This is what they wanted to do and it was okay with me as I was so very tired. So hopefully today they would like to come home. I am starting to feel a little lonely and far to relaxed.
So this post was going to have pictures but now that I have done something to this computer that is not going to happen Sorry. Next time!
